Salud Peluda

Editorial policy

At Salud Peluda we want you to be able to trust what you read. These are the rules we follow.

Sources

Our guides are based on recognized veterinary sources (clinical manuals, veterinary schools and professional bodies such as the AVMA, AAHA, CAPC or International Cat Care), on government agencies and on published laws. Every guide ends with a "Sources" section that links the documents we used, and when we give a specific figure (a price, a toxic dose, a legal requirement), it comes from them.

Our calculators explain on their own page the formula they use and where it comes from.

Review

Every guide is checked against several sources before it is published. Health guides always include the signs that mean your pet needs a vet.

Prices

The prices we publish are typical ranges based on published US cost data from veterinary financing companies, pet insurers and pet care platforms. What you pay depends on the clinic, your city or state, your pet's size and its health. We review prices at least once a year.

Laws

Pet laws in the US vary from state to state, and often from one city or county to the next. Our legal guides explain the general rules and link the official texts or recognized legal databases, but always check the rules where you live.

Authorship

Every guide is written and edited by Sergio Barragán Martín, who runs the site. You can learn more on our about page.

Updates

Every article shows its publication or last update date. When the law changes or important new information appears, we update the guide.

Independence and advertising

The site is funded by advertising and affiliate links. Advertisers don't decide what we publish and can't review our content. If we recommend a product or an insurance plan through an affiliate agreement, we say so in that same article.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, email us at [email protected]. We'll look into it and, if needed, correct it and update the date.
